Teflon® PTFE tape is only approved as a thread seal when applied correctly. To apply you begin at the end of the pipe and wrap the tape under tension in the direction of the thread turns. Each successive layer should overlap the previous layer by ½ to 2/3 and continue wrapping until the entire threaded portion of the pipe is covered. (Minimum of 3 full turns).Where do you use Silicone Coated Fiberglass?

Silicone is very conformable, flexible, trackable, and wear resistant in comparison to PTFE.By adding a glass fabric to the matrix, Taconic is able to obtain the added benefits of dimensional stability, durability, excellent tensile strength and low elongation. Some products that may adhere to PTFE coated fabrics may not adhere to silicone coated surfaces. The following are some applications:Packaging: Shrink tunnel curtains Food:Tray liners Cooking wheels Manufacturing of flavorants Aerospace, Communications & Military: Tank seals and containment barriers Gaskets, membranes, seals and diaphragms Protective curtains and aprons Other Applications: Insulation and protection Release sheets/separation materials, Expansion jointsTeflon® PTFE Coated Glass Fabric Belts reduce energy costs over Stainless Steel or Plastics Belts

Taconic is offering Teflon® PTFE coated belting, which in comparison with stainless steel or plastics products, reduce energy. Teflon® PTFE coated belting when compared with stainless steel or modular plastics products offer the following. * Energy savings - better heat transfer, absorbs less energy. * Lower maintenance costs - non-stick, easy to clean. * Cost Savings - less expensive, can be operated utilizing simpler, less expensive pulley and drive system. Taconic manufactures Teflon® PTFE belts and associated products. What has a higher release Skived Teflon® versus Teflon® Coated Glass Fabric?
