What makes a good Anti Seize Compound

Good quality anti-seize has lots of metal (active ingredient) and little grease. This makes it thick and pasty. Since metal is expensive and grease is inexpensive, poor quality anti-seize is often a can of grease with a sprinkling of copper flakes. An example of good quality Anti Seize is Anti Seize Technology Cop-Graf, it contains 39% Copper Graphite.

Why is your Anti Seize Cop-Graf red in color??? What is it made of? Is it like the Red Grease used for Bearings.

No it has nothing to do with the Red Grease. The red color is because of the copper flakes. Some Copper Graphite Compounds are grey instead of red. That is because they are putting less of the more protective, more expensive red colored copper flakes than the cheaper grey colored graphite.

Nickel based anti-seize is grey in color, and is more expensive than copper anti-seize, and is used in very high temperature applications. One could argue it's "higher quality". Copper Anti-seize, which may or may not be copper colored, is greatly affected by the amount of aluminum dust present. The dust has more surface area than the flakes of copper, and thus the grey color. Copper anti-seize without aluminum, will not perform as well.
